15. What is the difference between customized Electroluminescent Lamps and standard Electroluminescence Lamp?     

EL is known as Electroluminescent Lamp. It is essentially a capacitor structure with phosphor and dielectric sandwiched between two electrodes Application of an AC voltage across the electrodes generates a changing electric field within the phosphor, which causes the phosphor to emit light.                                                                                                                                                      

It is made of phosphor, dielectric and silver laminated with plastic.                                  

The thickness of an Electroluminescent Lamp is about 0.41mm – 0.43mm.                   

We print and assemble the EL Lamps and Drivers in our Batam Factory.                        

An EL Controller (Inverter) provides power to the Electroluminescent Lamp, typical supplies to the EL Lamp is 130Vac @ 800Hz. There will always be an EL Inverter for the various power sources available. Examples of these power sources are mains supply, battery supply and solar panel supply.                                                                                                                                                 

Yes, they are re-usable.

EL Lamps typically consumes ~0.007W/cm2 or ~70W/m2 of lighted area.

The time to 50% of initial brightness is used to measure the operating life of an EL Lamp. A

typical EL’s operating life is 10,000 hrs or 1.15 years.

After 10,000hrs the EL continues to function, localized failure will occur but unlike fluorescent

light it will not have catastrophic failure.

Pink/White Lamps produce by Nejilock have a brightness of 80cd/m2 to 100cd/m2.

Yes, Electroluminescent Lamps produce by Nejilock can be rolled up during packing. We

recommend a minimum diameter of 20cm when rolling the EL Lamp for packing.

Yes, it is possible to print multi-segment EL Lamps. The number of segments on an EL Lamp depends a lot on the Controller that is driving it. Nejilock has Controller that can drive up to 16 segments with a total EL Lamp lighted area not exceeding 6000cmsq at any one time. We can also cascade the Controllers together to drive up to 28 segments with a total EL Lamp lighted area not exceeding 6000cmsq or 12000cmsq.

We recommend the use of Pink/White EL Lamp for all backlight application. The results will be similar to fluorescent backlight, and the colors will depend on the backlit media and the quality of the print.

Yes, Nejilock’s Electroluminescence Lamp can be use for outdoor media. We recommend usage on outdoor media without enclosure for up to 3 months, one example of this usage is Billboards. For outdoor media with enclosure, we recommend usage of up to one year, one example of this usage is Light box.  

EL Lamps are produces with Silk Screen process, and this process requires tooling to be made for each design. We have standardized A4, A3, A2 and A1 size EL Lamps and we call this standard EL Lamps, we absorb the tooling charges for these lamps. All other sizes or designs will be considered customized and tooling fees will be charged.

Before we do that, I need to explain the Overall Size and the Lighted Size of the EL Lamps. All EL Lamps comes with a laminating seal for protection against the elements, and this seal determines the Overall Size.

Yes, we are able to create EL Animated Posters for print size bigger then 800mm x 1200mm. We have a technique for processing EL Animated Posters that are bigger then the 800mm x 1200mm maximum lamp size, the biggest panel that we have produce so far is 17M x 6M. 

All backlit printing media can be used for creating EL Animated Posters.

Yes, we have a technique of enabling EL Animated Posters to be use in conjunction with a light box.

Yes, EL Animated Posters is suitable for Outdoor use.

First you have to provide your artwork in JPEG, TIFF, BMP, EPS, PSD, PDF, CDR or AI format. We will create a simulation file for you approval. Upon approval of the Simulation, you will have to provide your final artwork in EPS, PSD, PDF, CDR or AI format only. The files have to be at lease 300dpi in Resolution, save to actual printing size, in CMYK Mode and for PC only.

The EL Animated Posters are lighted by the EL Lamps, and the brightness of Nejilock’s EL

Lamps is 100cd/m2. It is visible under normal lighting conditions.

EL Animated Posters functions just like all other posters that are Backlits, contrast in the

artwork determines the visibility more than anything else.

A typical Electroluminescent Animated Poster production will be 7-10days upon confirmation

of Final Artwork.

EL Animated Posters are light weight and flexible. You can simply paste it on a wall by double-

sided adhesive tape, or place it in a frame or light box.

We offer a one year warranty against manufacturing defect if use indoor or outdoor with a

protective frame. We offer a three months warranty against manufacturing defect if use outdoor

without a protective frame, eg Billboards.

We will do this on a case by case basis.

Yes it can be repaired.

EL Animated can be commonly seen in America, Europe, Australia, China, Korea, Japan,

Singapore etc.

The visibility of the lights depends on the sizes of the lighted area and the ambient lightings.

It is comparable with any posters backlit by fluorescent light box.

There are many components contributing to the cost of the EL Animated Posters, the main components are;

 

a) The Backlit print
b) The EL Lamps
c) The Assembly
d) The Driver (Inverter)

 

We cannot provide the costing for EL Animated Posters based on per M2 due to the backlit size and the EL Lamp size is always different. But we are able to provide a price range.

Yes, it is possible to cost down an EL Animated Posters to meet your budget, we can do it by

using less light but not compromising on the effect.

There are no minimum order quantities, but ordering less then 10pcs can be expensive. Price

can be 100% different if you purchase 1pcs versus you purchasing 10pcs or 50pcs.
